FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Please reach us at maccraftauto@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

We accept cash, credit cards (plus a 2.6% processing fee), wire transfers (plus a $30 bank fee), and original insurance repair checks. If your repair is through insurance and the check is made payable to you, simply sign the original check over to us and provide it at vehicle pickup.

Personal checks are not accepted for final payment unless they are received at least two weeks before the scheduled repair date. Personal checks are the payment method most likely to experience delays, bank holds, insufficient funds, or clerical errors that can prevent funds from being available when needed. Since we often purchase parts and incur repair costs before your vehicle is completed, payment must be fully available and verifiable at the time of delivery.

We understand this policy may be inconvenient and appreciate your understanding.

Yes, you may drop off your vehicle the day of or the night before your scheduled repair. Please park in the upper lot, secure or remove all valuables, and lock your vehicle. Fill out the key drop envelope and place your keys in it, then use the key drop box next to the office.

To ensure a timely start, please have your vehicle here by 8:00 AM.

Yes, if your bill is paid and you arrange it in advance, you can pick up your car after hours.

We accept credit card pre-payments over the phone during business hours or via a Square invoice sent by email. A 2.6% processing fee is added to credit card payments.

We offer Sunbit financing for vehicle repairs, with over 90% of applicants approved. It’s a short-term financing option that helps you get your car repaired quickly so you can get back on the road.

Sunbit loans can be used for all mechanical and paint work, and the application takes less than 5 minutes. Longer-term financing options may also be available through Sunbit.

We do not offer any other in-house payment plans. Please see our “Payments” policy below for more details.

Yes, however, there is no warranty on paint work. Paint manufacturers require proper product documentation and application by trained on-site technicians for warranties to apply.

We recommend waiting 1 month before using an automated car wash and 7 days before hand washing your vehicle.

No, the preliminary estimate is based on visible damage only. Additional damage may be found once parts are removed, which is called a “supplement” and is common.

You will receive an itemized invoice for all work performed. If it’s not on the quote, it is not included in the repair.

Yes, if you have an insurance repair, you will likely have a deductible. The amount depends on your insurance coverage—typically, higher monthly premiums mean lower deductibles, and vice versa, or it may be based on your risk level as a driver.

Deductibles commonly range from $100 to $2,500. You choose your deductible based on your insurance plan and monthly payment.

Your insurance company subtracts the deductible from their payment for the repairs, and you pay that remaining deductible amount to us.

We don’t offer flat-rate pricing for refinishing. All estimates are based on industry labor times using your VIN and vehicle size, and vary by make and model.

We offer collision-grade to show-car finishes, with several levels in between. We do not offer lower-quality paint jobs, as we stand behind our work and finish quality.

As a general guide, a basic refinish with no body, metal, or filler repair typically starts around $7,000–$10,000+.

Final cost depends on factors like finish quality, disassembly required, existing damage, vehicle size, paint type, and whether additional areas (jambs, under-hood, bed, etc.) are painted.

Every job is different, so pricing is always custom to the vehicle and scope of work.

We prefer that you do not supply your own parts, and here’s why.

Just because an online part claims to fit does not guarantee proper fitment. We frequently see issues with incorrect sizing, poor quality, or broken parts, which can cause delays and require additional labor.

Some lower-cost plastic parts may also contain materials that react during painting, causing issues like “kicking” or wrinkling, which leads to rework and extra paint time. Our suppliers help prevent these problems.

Our in-house vendors are selected for proven quality, correct fitment, and faster turnaround times. They can also quickly replace or credit defective parts, helping keep repairs on schedule.

Delays caused by customer-supplied parts can take up shop space and slow progress, so storage fees may apply while waiting on replacements. Using our vendors helps us control timelines and complete repairs more efficiently.

Please compare the estimates carefully, as they may not cover the same repairs. Differences can include new vs. used parts, aftermarket vs. OEM parts, whether all damage is being repaired, whether a panel is being repaired or replaced, how much of the panel is being painted, and whether decals, badges, and trim pieces are included.

Our estimates are based on what we believe is the best repair for the vehicle while considering its value. If repairing a panel is more cost-effective and provides a quality result, we will repair it rather than replace it. In some cases, new parts may not be available and repairs are necessary. Used parts can sometimes be the same quality as new parts, and part pricing is determined by market availability at the time of ordering.

We focus on long-term repair quality. When possible, we prefer proper metal repair over excessive body filler, which can crack over time if overused. We do not cut corners or perform repairs that may look acceptable in the short term but create problems later.

Full restorations are billed based on time, parts, and materials. Labor rates are $65 per hour for body and paint work, $42.50 per hour for paint materials (higher for premium toners or special effects), and $95 per hour for metal fabrication, electrical, and mechanical work.

Restorations are billed as work is completed. We do not pre-bill labor at any time. Invoices are issued every two weeks in increments and include a detailed itemized breakdown of work performed.
